  1. Imagine how the newsletter should look like and dissolve into its components.
  2. Increase efficiency and save time by using pre-defined contents.

    1.Upload logos, pictures, content blocks (e.g., header and footer) to your library which are used again and again.

    2.Please follow corporate communication guidelines in any case.

    3.The visual language should reflect your corporate identity.

    4.Update (delete and add) your library on a regular basis, e.g., all 2-3 months, to keep the contents transparent and easy to find/ select.

  3. Boost opening rates by crafting catchy subject lines.

    1.Communicate the purpose clearly and simply.

    Tell subscribers what to expect regarding the contents.
    Get attention without being over the top.
    Represent brandโ€™ personality.

    2.A subject line should not be longer than
    45 characters, or 5-6 words.

    Different e-mail clients have different limitations
    (e.g., Gmail: 77 characters, Hotmail: 45 characters,
    Outlook: 60 characters, Yahoo: 45 characters)

    3.Add signature emoji at the beginning.

    4.Avoid triggers for spam filters.
    (e.g., extreme punctuation, e.g.,ย  !!!???,
    all caps, e.g., MARKETING SECRETS INSIDE,
    over stylized fonts, e.g., This Gift Is Especially For You,
    overly promotional language, e.g., Buy NOW NOW NOW!)

  4. Personalize contents.

    Personalize salutation and contents,
    maybe also subject line.

    Option A: Via HTML code, especially if you work with
    an agency/ agencies or you have your own developers, or

    Option B: Create different e-mail-templates for different
    target groups which is a little bit more effort but fulfills
    the same purpose if option A is not possible.

  5. Driving traffic, generating sales or boosting subscribers by paying attention to call(s) to action.

    1.Choose a color that stands out from
    the rest of your newsletter.

    2.Use action words/ verbs, e.g.,

    Register now or
    Save one of the last three spots

    3.Embed your newsletter within and align with your marketing strategy, including different channels, social media etc.
